What is sunring astrology?
When you were born, you left your mother’s electromagnetic energy field and took your first breath as a newborn. However, you did not come out in a vacuum. All around you another energy field was swirling, the energy from the sun, the moon and the earth’s magnetic field.
This ocean of energy that you were born into right there and then left its own special imprint on you. You carry that imprint with you throughout your life and it describes your personality in broad strokes.

Most people know which astrological sign they were born under. In sunring astrology, as well as by other teachings, it is called the sun sign because it is a better description.
The sun sign describes the general energy that was everywhere on earth when you were born and is a combination of the sun’s position in relation to the earth’s magnetic field.
The signs of the zodiac are a practical way to explain different energy combinations during the year.
However, it is not the constellations of stars that have an impact, as is often believed, but the energy of the sun, the moon and the earth’s magnetic field.
They are by far the most dominant energies that we are affected by. The sun sign you were born under therefore has a great influence on your personality.
The ascendant and the sunring
You were born in a specific place at a specific time. Exactly there and then there was not only the overall energy that affected all those born on earth during that month.
There was also a very special energy, again a combination of the position of the sun and the magnetic field of the earth, but at that exact place and time. You could say that you received your first baptism in this ocean of energy that left an energy imprint on your whole being.

This is because over the centuries and millennia people have lost the insight that astrology is an energy system dominated by the sun, the moon and the earth.

The zodiac signs
The zodiac signs are used to describe the different energies that arise during the year when the sun’s energy is combined with the earth’s magnetic field in different positions. One might as well call the energy combinations 1, 2 and 3 instead of Aries, Taurus and Gemini, and so on, but the symbolism of the zodiac signs helps explain different energy states better than numbers.
The culture that once created the astrological system with the twelve zodiac signs understood what they were doing. Metaphors and symbols speak to us in a far more comprehensive way than numbers.
There is a slow rotation of the constellations over the millennia. According to astrology, one is born under the sign of Aries on the vernal equinox (approximately March 21) because the constellation of Aries was once located in the east exactly where the sun rose on the morning of the vernal equinox.
For the last two thousand years it has actually been the constellation of Pisces that has been visible on the eastern horizon in the morning of the vernal equinox, and now we are moving into the Age of Aquarius.
However, this does not matter in sunring astrology because it is a system that describes energies. The position of the sun in relation to the earth’s magnetic field is the same on the vernal equinox, and therefore it is fine that we continue to call that energy Aries, although the stars in the sky have shifted their position.
The meaning of the moon
In addition to the sun sign and the sunring, the moon has a great significance for your personality. You can get a clear idea of that yourself if you look up at the night sky. The moon is large and clear and has an energy radiation so strong that it can light up the whole sky, although not as brightly as the sun.
Right when you were born, the moon was in a particular position in relation to the energy of the sun and the magnetic field of the earth, as described by the zodiac. The moon’s energy was therefore an important part of the ocean of energy you were born into. Therefore, it has also left an imprint on your personality.
The significance of the planets
The planets have some influence on your personality, but that influence is insignificant compared to the enormous energy flows created by the sun, the earth’s magnetic field and the moon.
